Provence

At Home in Provence comes from Jeany Cronk, co-founder of the rosé house Maison Mirabeau, and it captures a particular way of living: long, generous lunches, seasonal cooking and the easy art of entertaining in the South of France. The book is as much about atmosphere and table as it is about the sixty recipes, so the photography had to hold both the food and the whole lifestyle around it.

I wanted the images to feel sun-warmed and rich in colour, all soft Provencal light, laid tables and the relaxed glamour of a meal that drifts into the afternoon. This was a chance to photograph food and lifestyle as one thing, which is exactly the territory I love most.
